Marvin Gaye x Mos Def = “Yasiin Gaye” By Amerigo Gazaway‏

It’s been over a year since producer, Amerigo Gazaway, released *Bizarre Tribe: A Quest To The Pharcyde* and he’s been eager to finally share a taste of his follow up.

Advancing the direction of his Otis Redding x Big Boi, re-work “Shutterbugg”, Gazaway’s new *Soul Mates* series continues the theme of his previous work in creating collaborations that never were.
On the series’ first installment, the producer unites Brooklyn rapper Yasiin Bey (FKA Mos Def) and soul legend Marvin Gaye for a dream collaboration aptly titled “Yasiin Gaye.” Building the album’s foundation from deconstructed samples of Gaye’s Motown classics, Gazaway re-orchestrates the instrumentation into new productions within a similar framework. Carefully weaving Bey’s dense raps and Gaye’s soulful vocals over his new arrangements, the producer delivers a quality far closer to Gaye’s famous duets than that of a “mashup” album.

SugaBoom & Marvin Gaye | I Want U [2013 Remix]

New York production duo SugaBoom have just finished their new 2013 remix of the Marvin Gaye classic “I want You”. Sugaboom originally took on the track in 2011 delivering a mid tempo groover, however their new revisited version is much more of a 4/4 dancefoor pleaser which is already creating a buzz here on the Meltdown show !
