Meemee Nelzy | “Ola w té yé” (Where Were You?) | New Single

I had the great pleasure of introducing Meemee Nelzy’s brand new single “Ola w té yé?” (Where were you?) to my listeners on Saturdays Meltdown show. The French songstress (who i’m a big fan of) has been on my radar since her debut album “Âme Nouvelle” back in 2009 which has featured heavily on previous shows. So far this year she’s blessed us with two killer releases, Buscrates 16-bit Remix of “Comme Un Lotus” from her debut album and “Yenki Vou”, a beautiful new Soul track which will also feature on the upcoming project “Kréyòl Seasoning”  due out 16th November. The new single has the trade mark sound you’ll only find on a Meemee Nelzy track, from an upcoming project laced with French creole vibes from West indians beatmakers and includes new music with the great John Robinson. If you can’t wait that long, pass by her Bandcamp page and get up to date with her previous releases – you’ll be glad you did!

More Indie soul music out of France. Born in Paris and a native French West Indian Meemee Nelzy brings her rich heritage into her music. Her debut album “Ame Nouvelle” was independently released and has since been steadily working with various underground artists.
She previously featured on the hook to Large Professor’s “Chill” a song which appeared on Dela’s album “Change Of Atmosphere” and has also produced for Iman Williams. Word has it she may be working on a single with Toronto’s aka Subliminal this year too… Check Meelmee Nelzy here performing her track “L’Essentiel”. Meemee’s music is Ame Nouvelle (nu soul) with a beautiful voice and production match.. it’s live soul music from the French West Indies..!
