Robert Glasper IS without doubt one of the most talented artists of our time, and just as i finished soaking up his latest Black Radio album, Zepherin Saint steps up to give the lead single his remix treatment. Iv been waiting for more mixes to appear since the remix competition earlier this year. . Zepherin has done a great job on this mix, taking the whole track up a few notches and giving “Ah Yeah” a new lease of life for the dancefloor – lets hope he does some more!

I was more than impressed with the original album version of “Move Love” when i first heard it. However, Ahmed Sirour’s entry to the Robert Glasper Remix competition is one serious piece of work, giving the track his magic touch with an infectious Bossa/Soul groove! The competition was run to promote the upcoming Robert Glasper album, Black Radio which is due via Blue Note Records Feb 27th. Ahmed wrote that this is his first time attempting Bossa Nova and luckily for us he finished the track just in time for the deadline while on vacation in Brasil. Before you head over to pick up the remix, don’t forget this is a free download and a gift, so show some support and give him your vote for the competition HERE

Few jazz artists have managed to straddle the world of hip hop, soul & jazz as well as Robert Glasper. A phenomenal piano player in his own right he has taken his skills from the acoustic jazz albums of “In My Element” to the more experimental “Double Booked” to this album with a host of guests like- Erykah Badu, Mos Def, Bilal, Lalah Hathaway, lupe Fiasco, Meshell Ndegeocello who bring powerful hip hop & soulful elements to accompany Glaspers playing which has always borrowed heavily on these styles. His Glasper Experiment tours feel like watching Herbie Hancock during his Thrust period and he has recently toured with Q Tip & Maxwell. The new album “Black Radio” hits stores Febuary 28th!
