After being locked in a vault for around 15 years we’re finally getting to hear more of what London UK’s TOTO productions recorded back in the early + mid 90′s. TOTO which created Urban Street Soul Orchestra (Daz-I-Kue, Don Ricardo, Hil St Soul, Steven Ville, Julie Smith and Paul ‘vibe’ C) originally produced a catalog of material that was never released, and after USSO went their separate ways the tracks stayed locked away until the group eventually rejoined in 2011 and started to release their back catalog.
The first to surface was the long over due Spice Of Life album originally recorded in 1997 which finally saw an official release in December 2011.
Here are two more unreleased joints from the USSO vault.. the killer “Grapevine” features Stevie Ville on vocals who joined TOTO Productions in the early 90′s + also featured on the “Slice of Life” lead single with Don Ricardo. “Never Had A Love” is another quality track featuring vocalist Jennifer Phillips.. It’s good to know they’re currently working on new material which could hopefully get a release later this year..
In the mean time, enjoy these vintage gems.

Following on from the 2011 best seller “Baptism By Fire” Paris Toon & Mothers Favorite Child return with a stunning new single taken from what promises to be another masterpiece album.
“Until Now” there was a long moment of silence in music where feeling was supposed to be and MFC have responded with the sweet sound of nostalgia by creating a song that shines light on the simplicity of love. With an irresistible warm glow the song wears colors reminiscent of vintage Soul tracks encouraging the listeners to snuggle up to that warm and fuzzy vibe.
“Until Now” features vocalists Ti-et + Morris Alan and looks set to be the lead single from the brand new album due to hit stores summer 2012. Here we see MFC doing what they do best – organic music with honesty, meaning, melody and real lyrics. The album is currently in the final stages of mixing and looks sure to be another hit for the Arizona collective. If you didn’t pick up the previous album then pass by the website today, plus you can grab his the limited free download Remix of “Sweet Tooth” (For Chocolate) throughout April HERE – Enjoy the sound of MFC and stay tuned for more !

A rewind back to February 2011 with a jazzy Hip-Hop joint taken from Saturdays Meltdown show tracklist. The son of Jazz Legend and Pioneer Hilton C. Felton Jr continues in his fathers legacy of making musical footprints instead of stepping into the shoes of conformity.
A rare joint recorded at XM Radio’s early days from a project called “Art! Hurts Project Zero”. Im a real lover of all the Jazz pioneers that came before us and “Queezy” has the ingredients i like in a HipHop track. Lifted from the album The Vault: Postcards from The Edge and Other Things which includes a collection of W. Ellington Felton’s music from the years of 1999 – 2008.

Produced by Darek Dar-o Tomczyk (Poland) + London-based Ghanaian singer/songwriter + MC M3NSA (pronounced Mensa) “Fanti Love Song” Remix features guest UK Soul singer Terri Walker. Already a long-time admirer of the classically trained Walker, M3NSA recalls bumping into her on the odd occasion before they formally met while being cast for the Africa Express 2011 line-up.
The two wrote a couple of songs together for that event and knew from then on there had to be another opportunity to work in the studio together. M3NSA recalls luring her with the promise of Jollof rice and she caught the bait! Twenty minutes into the session for the remix it was already magical! The track glides along nicely on a dope mid-tempo bounce, and repartees in pidgin to Walker’s seductive beckoning, while he massages it into a sensual groove which anyone who has felt love’s aches and yearnings will totally understand. When i think of great bands around right now Water Seed are one of the first that spring to mind. Their first single to be lifted from the new upcoming project took us back to their roots and foundations from the Frenchmen St. scene to their appearances at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Nola Brown was a taste of what’s to come and here they reveal the concepts and ideals behind their up and coming release of their highly anticipated CD “Wonder Love”.

All living creatures are impatient at the beginning of Spring. We become anxious about the coming of Summer. By March, everyone loathes the long winter that’s frosted over our lives, turning them cold and boring. This song uses the beauty of the blooming season as a metaphor for action. Specifically, the poem in the song personifies a perennial plant, as it awaits the coming of another opportunity. Patiently, we look for an opening. Patiently, we sit. Patiently, we bloom.
All Vocals and Instruments Performed by Diggs Duke
Taken from Official Projects
Release date: Mar 26, 2012

Robert Glasper IS without doubt one of the most talented artists of our time, and just as i finished soaking up his latest Black Radio album, Zepherin Saint steps up to give the lead single his remix treatment. Iv been waiting for more mixes to appear since the remix competition earlier this year. . Zepherin has done a great job on this mix, taking the whole track up a few notches and giving “Ah Yeah” a new lease of life for the dancefloor – lets hope he does some more!
