Estonia music collective formally known as Under Construction release their first 4 track EP under their new band name State Of Zoe.
It was in august 2010 that Sander Mölder started the pop-electronic project with singer Anneliis Kits which later grew into several tracks released on Stereo Spectrum’s EP “Conciliation”. After a few appearances with Stereo Spectrum, the duo started to work on Sander’s own more jazzy material, which they had performed a couple of times before with the saxophonist Indrek Varend and which later resulted in a warm-up gig together for Tortured Soul at the Autumnjazz Festival 2010 followed by various other gigs around Estonia.
Now with the introduction of keyboard player Talis Paide + drummer, Kristjan Kallas the band decided it was time to leave the project-based name behind and State of Zoe was born. The new Mind (Part I) EP is out now on Bandcamp.com

Freestyle Records are proud to be the new home for one of the UK’s most creative and in demand musicians, Jessica Lauren.
Since the early 1990s, the soulful, spacey jazz grooves of keyboard player Jessica Lauren have been a familiar part of London’s alternative music scene, having in the past released her own original music on Soul Jazz Records, M.E.L.T 2000 and People Records. Jessica’s keyboard skills have augmented the live performances and studio recordings of world renowned artists such as Jean Carne, Tom Browne, Dexter Wansel and James Mason, Japan’s United Future Organisation, UK soul diva Juliet Roberts, as well as Jessica currently being a core member of Nick Woodmansey’s space jazz outfit Emanative.
Jessica Lauren Four is her latest project, nearly entirely acoustic, and is an intoxicating cocktail of her many diverse influences including blues and soul, jazz and Afro-Cuban rhythms, combined with ambient dance music, always interesting, absorbing and surprising. The lead single from it “White Mountain” is a spell binding and hypnotic blend of 21st century jazz.

A rewind back to February 2011 with a jazzy Hip-Hop joint taken from Saturdays Meltdown show tracklist. The son of Jazz Legend and Pioneer Hilton C. Felton Jr continues in his fathers legacy of making musical footprints instead of stepping into the shoes of conformity.
A rare joint recorded at XM Radio’s early days from a project called “Art! Hurts Project Zero”. Im a real lover of all the Jazz pioneers that came before us and “Queezy” has the ingredients i like in a HipHop track. Lifted from the album The Vault: Postcards from The Edge and Other Things which includes a collection of W. Ellington Felton’s music from the years of 1999 – 2008.

All living creatures are impatient at the beginning of Spring. We become anxious about the coming of Summer. By March, everyone loathes the long winter that’s frosted over our lives, turning them cold and boring. This song uses the beauty of the blooming season as a metaphor for action. Specifically, the poem in the song personifies a perennial plant, as it awaits the coming of another opportunity. Patiently, we look for an opening. Patiently, we sit. Patiently, we bloom.

Robert Glasper IS without doubt one of the most talented artists of our time, and just as i finished soaking up his latest Black Radio album, Zepherin Saint steps up to give the lead single his remix treatment. Iv been waiting for more mixes to appear since the remix competition earlier this year. . Zepherin has done a great job on this mix, taking the whole track up a few notches and giving “Ah Yeah” a new lease of life for the dancefloor – lets hope he does some more!

Meltdown show regular Sarah Winton continues to keep us up to date with all things fresh and new via her soundcloud page and there’s some great jazzy tracks on there too plus a heap of quality collaborations featuring various producers + musicians from both sides of the pond. This recent one sees her taking care of vocal duties on a new joint entitled “Sunshine” alongside Monsieur Greg (Computer, rhodes) and Vicky Flint (Trumpet and flugelhorn). Im really feeling both of these mixes, the beautiful Samba Soul version has summer written all over it + the beaty club mix takes the track up a notch but keeps the jazzy flavours intact. Sarah is currently working on a new project which will hopefully include some of her recent work, there’s been too many good ones to mention. In the mean time check these new ones and search out her old material..

Yaz Alexander is one of the UK’s finest contemporary female vocalists. Based in Birmingham she specializes in performing Reggae, Jazz, Soul and R’n'B with influences ranging from Billie Holiday, Shirley Bassey to Diana Ross and her number one musical influence Bob Marley.
The stage is the natural domain for Yaz and like all great stage artisans she works it creatively and artistically always giving audiences something stimulating to focus on. A former backing vocalist for UK Reggae giant, Pato Banton, Yaz has also worked with the likes of Steel Pulse, Eddie Grant, Dean Fraser plus many other luminaries in the reggae field.
